Pattern Corrections

CHANTAL: (4/2007)

Row 9: Work in est rib pattern, beginning and ending with P2.

BODY: first paragraph should read

Next row(RS): Keeping in est patt throughout row and removing CO markers as you come to them:

Work to 1 st before marked st

Work 2 tog, work one, PM

Work in pattern (5 st) until marked st, work 2 tog

Continue in pattern until 1 st before marked st

Work 2 tog, work in pattern (5 st) until 1 st before marked st

PM, work 1, work 2 tog

then continue with pattern as written working in pattern to end of row 62(70,78,86,94) sts

FIFI: (revision 6/23/2007)

Rowan Calmer is 175 yds, not what is shown in the unrevised pattern.

Sizing: corrected to read...

FIFI is constructed with negative ease to ensure a form fitting silhouette; garment will stretch 2-4 in(5-10 cm) depending on yarn chosen; for best results, use one with some elasticity. Size shown is finished garment size not bust size

Corrections for all sizes:

The section titled: "Separate sleeves from body" should read as follows:

Before beginning separation, make note of total # of body sts between markers. We will use that later to calculate underarm CO.
Next round: Keeping beginning marker in place and removing yoke increase markers as you come to them, K to first marker, place all sts between first and second markers (sleeve sts) on waste yarn, turn work to reverse side and cast on enough sts to keep 5-st established pattern correct. This number may vary between 3-5 depending on size and number of increases. Repeat the above at third and fourth markers, then work to end in pattern.
Next round: Work in est rib patt to sts just cast on, place 1st side seam marker about halfway between them, work to next group of CO sts, place 2nd side seam marker; there are now only three markers in the piece. Work in est patt (alternate rounds of P 1, K 4 rib and knit) for 4 (3, 3, 0, 0) more rounds. Note:You should have 6 rounds from the last C4F cable twist in the center front cable.

Rd 43 should read:

Round 43:(cable rd) *Kinc, continue in est pattern keeping cable placement correct for your size, working to 1 st from marker, Kinc, SM*, rep from * to * around, ending with Kinc in last st. 272 (272, 292, 272, 292) sts. Note: Remember that 4-st cable panels need to alternate with 4-st knit panels, with one purl st between them as established in pattern.

Rd 50 should read:

Round 50: Cable Rd: Continue in est pattern, knitting around, placing cables as correct for your size.

Corrections for all sizes with 140 cast on:

Rd 22( staggered cable rd ): *K 9, (C4F, K 6) to 2 sts before marker, K 2, SM, repeat from *. This will allow the staggered cable to begin in the correct place and will keep the central cable which continues the entire length of the garment (center front and center back) in the proper location.

Rd 26: * K 6, C4F, work to 5 sts before marker, K 5, SM repeat from *. This will be the last cable twist done in these 4 st sections--from now on these sections will be worked as K 4 with no cable alternating across garment with 4 st cables until the lower bodice, where only the center front and back cable continue to hem.

Rd 29: K inc, *(P 1, C4F, P 1, K 4, ), to 6 sts before marker, then P 1, C4F, K inc, SM, K inc, repeat from * This will keep staggered cable placed correctly.

In sidebar : Une Petite Note: Short Row Bust Shaping

From ....Begin by placing markers on garment at bust apex and side seams...it should read--- On first short row,* work to within 1 st of bust apex marker, with yarn in front, sl nxt st to rhn, wrap yarn around st as you slip it back to lhn. Turn work to reverse side and work back to within 1 st of 1st side marker; repeat wrapping and turning, then work back, (add one more set of short rows here as necessary, working to 1 st of last wrapped st). When finished with that side’s short row, continue to work across to remaining side, picking up horizontal bar of wrapped sts and working it together with st on needle(hiding wrapped st). Work to other side to within 1 st of side marker, repeat wrapping & turning, working to within 1 st of bust apex marker, repeat wrapping & turning, (adding more sets of short rows if necessary), then working to end of rd, hiding wrapped sts as above. These are very general guidelines; please visit the website for links to short row tutorials**.
